Dear CTPP listserv members:

I have asked the Census Bureau to post a reply regarding plans for
"core-based statistical areas". I feel that I read that 5-years of ACS
were going to be used, but it might be my imagination. So... it is
better to hear from the CB, instead of guessing.

Subject: [CTPP] using the ACS to define metro areas

Does anyone know whether metro areas, or whatever they are called, will
be adjusted annually based on results of the ACS county level data? Or
what data will be used in the definitions? Historically it's been based
on the decennial census numbers about county commuter patterns and
population growth.
